LAMP

As minimal reaction to post-modern excess, a simple structural steel tube is used to create a floor lamp. The top of the lamp hinges, thus allowing for two directional lighting. In the standard position, the lamp produces ambient uplighting. In the hinged position, a reading light is produced. The lamp utilizes halogen fixtures – new for the time. The bottom of the lamp is integral to the floor and contains no base. Exploring the integrity of a material allows for a fusion of form and function – one relating to the other, not one apriori to the other.
