South beach marriott beachfront plaza

The existing hotel received a renovation and redesign of the beachfront plaza and underground parking. The reduction from two terracing levels to one was introduced to create an expansive exterior area that includes two infinity edge swimming pools and continuous seating and lounging.  In addition, pedestrian traffic flow was rerouted to the north side of the deck in order to minimize interruption.  Working closely with the Department of Environmental Protection as well as Fish and Wildlife, compliance with the sensitive standards of constructing in a coastal zone were maintained.  A future phase will include a renovation to the existing hotel interior that would add a day spa and conference center.
