TOTEMS

The Totems explore the relationship between the human figure, architecture, and symbolic form. Composed of stacked, intersecting, and sometimes precariously balanced elements, these drawings suggest structures that exist somewhere between monuments, artifacts, and imaginary beings.

The forms possess an anthropomorphic quality without directly representing the body. They evoke the presence of figures, the accumulation of histories, and the possibility that architecture might communicate through gesture rather than conventional function.

The drawings investigate how individual elements can be assembled into objects that suggest both an ancient origin and an uncertain future.
